Suffolk Woman Makes False 911 Call To Avoid Traffic Ticket: Cops
She falsely reported there were two men with guns running down the street, police say.

A Commack woman was arrested on Tuesday after police say she falsely reported seeing two men with guns to avoid getting traffic summonses.
According to authorities, Marie Toussaint, 40, was pulled over on Jericho Turnpike, near Larkfield Road in Commack, for not having valid registration plates on Monday, Oct. 31 at 11:18 a.m. Toussaint, while the officer returned to his vehicle to write the summonses, called 911 to falsely report there were two men with guns running down the street in the vicinity of the traffic stop, police say.
The call received a large response from Second and Fourth Precinct officers, including the officer that stopped Toussaint for the call. The officer released her without writing any summonses, police say.

The call was determined to be fraudulent following a thorough search of the area.
An investigation determined Toussaint was responsible for the call and she subsequently surrendered at the Suffolk Precinct in Huntington on Tuesday at 4:50 p.m.

She was charged with third-degree falsely reporting an incident and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Toussaint will also receive four summonses for the original traffic infractions. She was released on bail and will be arraigned at First District Court on Jan.11, 2018.
This is the second time in a week that a person made a 911 call to report a false emergency in Suffolk County, police say.
