Crime Log: Police Say Impaired Driving Led to Crash
A look at recent arrests in Commack.

The following information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.
- Russell Truelson, 51, of Commack was arrested May 9 on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs in the first degree. Police said Truelson was driving south on Route 454 at Wydanch Boulevard in Commack at 9:12 a.m. when he rear-ended the vehicle in front of him. Police said he had prescription drugs that were not prescribed to him.
- Emanuel Pyros, 61, of Northport, was arrested in Commack May 11 on a charge of stalking in the fourth degree. Police said he was arrested at the place of employment where his alleged victim worked.
- James Cowie, 28, of Smithtown, and Katelin Beyer, 23, of Commack were both arrested at Waldbaum’s at 84 East Jericho Turnpike in Commack on May 6 on charges of petty larceny. Police said the pair took assorted packs of batteries and pistachio nuts.
