Elderly Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Commack Crash
The driver was making a left turn when she struck an elderly woman, police say.
COMMACK, NY — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a crash in Commack on Friday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A 63-year-old Dix Hills woman was driving a 2020 Mercedes-Benz northbound in the parking lot of T.J. Maxx, at 5020 Jericho Turnpike, when she made a left turn and struck an elderly woman around 2 p.m., police said. The woman, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
The driver was not injured, police said. The Mercedes-Benz was impounded for a safety check.
