Good Samaritans Save Woman Who Drove Car Into Long Island Pond
BREAKING: A tragedy averted this evening after a woman drove her car into a Long Island pond.

SMITHTOWN, NY – Two good Samaritans helped pull a woman from a sinking car in Smithtown Sunday evening.
Suffolk Police say a 60-year-old woman drove her 2000 Toyota Camry into Millers Pond off Maple Avenue at about 5:50 p.m. Heavy rain was falling at the time.
Fourth Precinct officers responded to the scene. The woman was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation.
