COMMACK, NY — More than 90 participants of the Gurwin Adult Day Health Program gathered to celebrate the completion of The Gurwin Life Skills Program with a commencement ceremony, Gurwin announced.
The culmination of the program marks a year of learning, growth and community connection. In typical graduation style, gown-clad graduates proudly walked across the stage to receive their certificate of completion — an emotional and celebratory moment honoring their hard work and dedication.
Taught by members of the Gurwin staff, The Life Skills Program offers seniors and older adults with chronic illnesses or disabilities a slate of educational and helpful classes, including technology, art and music appreciation, health and wellness, smart shopping and scam prevention.
