To treat a Poison Ivy rash, one should wash the affected area with water immediately after contact.
To relieve symptoms, a wet compress or cool bath can be helpful. Calamine lotion and other nonprescription antihistamines may help. More severe cases may require a doctor-prescribed treatment.
