Recent Commack Graduate Arrested For Fatal Hit-And-Run: PD
The 17-year-old was arrested 9 hours after the crash.

A recent graduate of Commack High School was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash after striking a pedestrian who later died from his injuries on Thursday morning in Huntington, police say.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Greenlawn resident Sair Rodriguez was walking on the shoulder of Broadway, at the intersection of Legacy Court, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Dix Hills resident Veronica Borracci at midnight.
Rodriguez, who suffered life-threatening injuries, was taken to Huntington Hospital by Greenlawn Fire Department and died later in the morning.

Borracci, who graduated from Commack High School in June, was arrested at 9 a.m. and was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. She will be held overnight at the Second Precinct and will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
