Search Is On for Commack's People Of The Year

With TIME magazine announcing its Person of the Year this week, Commack Patch thought it might be fun to launch its own People of the Year search.

TIME readers voted on a variety of people who influenced the news most, from Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Kim Kardashian. On Wednesday, TIME announced 'The Protestor' as its 2011 Person of the Year.

At Commack Patch we are asking our loyal readers for nominations on the local level. The most thoughtful and most popular 10 responses will be put out for all to vote. Please tell Patch either in the comments section below or by emailing Kaitlyn.Piccoli@patch.com who deserves a title and why.

It could be a politician, a student, a community member, firefighter or volunteer -- whoever you think, just as long as they live, work or serve the community that encompasses Commack.

We'll leave the nominations open for a few days and start the voting next week.
