The Dish: Classic Take on Overstuffed Pastrami

A staple in the community for more than three decades, the serves up all the traditional favorites in an old-school deli atmosphere.

That includes the warm, overstuffed pastrami sandwich.

The behemoth sandwich features a tower of savory, tender Kosher pastrami, accompanied solely by a smear of mustard on thin slices of rye. Of course, it wouldn't be a meal without the requisite side of pickle spears and a heap of cole slaw or potato salad, both of which strike the fine balance between creamy and crunchy.

Patrons who peer over the deli counter can also choose between specialty sandwiches and a vast selection of freshly prepared meals for a homemade dinner on the go. 

And skeptics, beware: these Kosher selections are the real deal, prepared daily according to strict Jewish law and under the supervision of Rabbi William Berman of the Commack Jewish Center.

The deli, which sits in the Mayfair Shopping Center, also serves as a Kosher food market and butcher, offering organic poultry and beef.
