"The Prodigal Son Returns" Gala honoring Eddie Villella
The Commack based Frank Ohman School of Ballet/New York Dance Theatre will host a spring gala "The Prodigal Son Returns" honoring ballet legend Edward Villella at the Smithtown Landing Country Club (495 Landing Ave., Smithtown) on Monday at 5 p.m. "Eddie" Villella, as he is most often called, rose to stardom in Balanchine's New York City Ballet where he was a principal dancer for over two decades.  One of his most highly acclaimed roles was that of "The Prodigal Son" in the ballet of the same name.  

Nominate a Commack Resident for a Local Hero Award
Do you know a local hero?  Someone who selflessly helped others after Hurricane Sandy? The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach is hosting a “Community Heroes of Hurricane Sandy” essay contest honoring individuals who helped make a difference in their community following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. To enter, click this link: http://promoshq.wildfireapp.com/website/6/contests/318421.  

Commack High School Softball Fundraiser  
Support the Commack high School girls softball team/Girls’ Diamond Club by attending a car wash fundraiser on April 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the high school (1 Scholar Lane, Commack). The $5 donation will help support the scholarship fund, equipment and needed improvements to the field.  

Ladies’ Night at Paint-A-Piece
Have fun with the girls and create a work of art at Paint-A-Piece pottery studio in Commack on April 26 at 7 p.m. Enjoy light snacks and dessert. Feel free to bring your own beverage. All you have to do is spend $14or more and have a great time. Reservations required: 631-486-6969.
