Fake Bomb Addressed to Obama Causes Scare at Car Wash
Police responding to a fake bomb addressed to the President shut down Jericho Turnpike in Commack Wednesday, though the package, found in the trunk of a vehicle at the Commack Hand Car Wash, was a training bomb, officials said.

The scare happened when a worker discovered a Rubbermaid box containing an object covered in wires, tape, flares, along with a letter addressed to "The President of America" with an Arabic name in the return address, in the trunk of a Hyundai Sonata they were beginning to detail.

Beloved Commack Restaurant Owner Dies in Crash
Peter Fedden, who was known to thousands of Commack residents, simply as 'Pete' of Commack Breakfast, died early Wednesday morning, when he crashed his vehicle into a building in Hauppauge.

A 'Double Special' Tribute to Commack Breakfast Owner
More than 100 customers, friends, neighbors and family members paid a visit to Commack Breakfast to pay homage to owner Peter Fedden, who died in a car crash Wednesday.

Candles, flowers and personal messages were left at the cafe, where Fedden's smiling face used to greet his customers.

Healing Garden a 'Fitting Tribute' at State Park
Commack and Kings Park community leaders gathers at Nissequogue River State Park to dedicate a garden in tribute to its past, and hopefully one step towards a brighter future. 

The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation and Commack-Kings Park Rotary club publically unveiled a new healing garden along the bluffs of the Nissequogue River State Park at sunset on Wednesday to supports and local residents. 

Chico's Opens at Mayfair
Chico's at the Mayfair Shopping center in Commack is now open.

The retail company started its construction on the 2,971-square-foot space in May. There are two other Chico's locations nearby including at the Tanger Outlet Center at The Arches in Deer Park and the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove.
