Whiz Kid: Wrestler Heads to New York State Championship
CHS sophomore CJ Labate surprised everyone and earned the top spot in his weight class at the Suffolk County Championship. This week, he's heading to Albany for a shot at the State title.

Wrestler CJ Labate embodies the meaning of a Whiz Kid. This underdog came out of the shadows this season with a perfect record and pinned the top dogs in his 103-pound weight class, earning him a Suffolk County title and a new reputation in the wrestling world.
The 15-year-old sophomore will represent Commack High School this week at the State championship in Albany.
