Witness Describes Macy's Robbery: 'He Hit This Woman Very Hard'
The witness at the Commack Macy's also provided a description of the robber. A clerk was hospitalized after being assaulted Sunday.

COMMACK, NY – A witness to Sunday morning's violent robbery at the Commack Macy's has provided new details on the incident that sent a 60-year-old clerk to the hospital.
According to Suffolk Police, two people entered the Macy's located at 2 Veterans Memorial Highway at about 11 a.m. went to the men's jewelry department.
They assaulted a female clerk before stealing jewelry and fleeing the store.

"He hit this woman very hard and very square in the face," said the witness, who chased the robber out the door. "We noticed the guy before the attack. Looked a little off."
The witness described the male robber as 6-foot-2 or taller, around his mid-40s with thinning short blonde hair. He had on a light blue shirt and cargo shorts.

The man was with a woman and they fled west on Vets Highway in a silver Hyundai or Honda.
