6 Deer Park Musicians Make All-County Ensemble

High schoolers will perform next March's SCMEA All-County Concert.

Six students from Deer Park High School in the 11th and 12th grades have been chosen for this year's All-County ensembles, sponsored by the Suffolk County chapter of the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education, according to a announcement released by the school.

Jerline Aristide, Katherine Keller, Mauricio Montes, Jessica Orelus, David Reyes and Noah Roff  were described as having proven their "natural gifts and dedication to practice as well as the program’s vibrancy." The students earned their places by performing highly on evaluation scores and were given strong recommendations from their school music instructors.

According to the Suffolk County Music Educators Association website, the All-County Concert will take place at Centereach High School next March 9 at 1 p.m.

“These students once again have shown the community the strengths of the music program in Deer Park,” said Dr. Jeff S. Dailey, director of fine and performing arts at Deer Park High School. “Through their talent and hard work, they have achieved significant recognition of their musicianship.”

One student, Mr. Roff, was also selected to be part of the All-State String Orchestra scheduled to perform at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference in Rochester, NY in December.
