Weather Forecast


A brisk fall chill will continue to hang around this week as the leaves continue to change colors with high temperatures staying in the low 50's throughout the week until Friday. Mostly sunny to partly cloudy days ahead, including Halloween with temperatures in the upper 50's for early evening trick-or-treating. Forecasts calling for a chance of rising temperatures in the mid 60's and showers as we head into next weekend.

Public Meetings

The Deer Park Booster Club will hold a meeting at Deer Park High School on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

The North Babylon PTA Willy Nilly Fundraiser will begin this Wednesday at 7 p.m.

High School Playoffs

North Babylon's varsity soccer teams have reached the playoffs and are heading for the gold as they play elimination games this week.

The girls varsity squad will be away against Smithtown West on Monday at 2 p.m. as they look to move onto the next round.

The boys varsity team will head east to Sachem North to play against the Flaming Arrows on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

Sandy: One Year Later

Hurricane Sandy struck Long Island one year ago on October 29 and one local volunteer group will be holding a ceremony to mark the occasion. Adopt-A-House will hold a ceremony at Lindenhurst's Village Square Park at Hoffman Avenue and Wellwood Avenue on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. The ceremony will include a video montage of the scenes over the past year and a few words from local leaders.
