See What Deer Park Fifth Graders Created During JFK’s ‘Day In Clay’

DEER PARK, NY — Fifth graders at John F. Kennedy Intermediate School recently rolled up their sleeves and got creative during the school’s annual “Day in Clay” art experience.
As part of the hands-on project, students designed and created either a bowl or a plate while experimenting with different clay techniques and texture tools. Each piece was personalized with original designs before being finished with colorful clay glaze.
“Our students look forward to this project every year, and it’s always a lot of fun to see what they come up with,” teacher Briana Fayans said.
