Decades Of Excellence Recognized At Deer Park Athletic Hall Of Fame Ceremony

DEER PARK, NY — Deer Park High School celebrated its third annual Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Oct. 17, recognizing a new class of standout athletes, coaches, and community contributors whose achievements have left a lasting mark on the school’s storied sports history.

This year’s class featured 13 individual athletes, two coaches, two honorary members, and one team, all honored for their excellence, leadership, and dedication to the Falcons' athletic tradition.

The evening ceremony, held in the high school auditorium, was filled with pride and nostalgia as honorees reunited with former teammates, coaches, and friends. Each inductee was introduced with heartfelt tributes recounting career highlights and personal stories that reflected the community’s enduring passion for athletics.

Following the ceremony, the new inductees admired their official plaques, newly added to the Hall of Fame wall outside the gymnasium — a permanent reminder of their accomplishments and the Falcon spirit they helped build.

This year’s Hall of Fame class included the 1980 varsity baseball team — led by coach Carmine Argenziano — as well as athletes John Antretter, Jasper Barone, Kevin Baugh, Linda Bertsch, Dave Bockstruck, John Brand, Diana Cellini, Brian Curley, Rich DiMaggio, Alan Goldblatt, Quentin Greco, John Kaiser, Steve Kroencke, Joe LaDonna, Rich Loeb, Mike Miller, Shawn Miller, Lenny Petrone, Joe Purcell, Donald Quigley, Larry Rosano, Bill Russo and Jim Walters.

In the Coaches category, Cary Gluck was honored. Dr. Anthony Donatelli and Steven Zimmerman were recognized as honorary members, while Thomas Cox, Ted DiPasquale, Malik Edmead, Mark Ganzer, Kishana Hudson, Michael McLaughlin, Patrick Policastro, Sabrina Riley, Ray Searage, Joseph Valentine, Larisa Zambelli and Adam Zimmerman were inducted as athletes.
