Deer Park HS French Dinner Celebrates Culture With Cirque du Soleil ‘Ovo’ Theme

Students and families enjoyed food, games, music, and themed activities during the annual celebration.

DEER PARK, NY — Deer Park High School’s French department brought a burst of Cirque du Soleil–style color and creativity to its annual French Dinner on Nov. 15, school officials said.

This year’s event took inspiration from the Cirque du Soleil show “Ovo,” transforming the evening into a celebration of community, cuisine and culture. Students, families and friends filled the room with homemade dishes, while taking part in trivia contests, crafts and circus-themed games throughout the night.

The high school’s jazz band performed live, adding to the festive atmosphere, officials said. The evening wrapped with awards for standout student-created masks designed in the style of Cirque du Soleil.
