Suffolk Man Charged With Stalking 4 Women Online For 3 Years: Police
The man called the women hundreds of times for a duration of 3 years, police say.

DEER PARK, NY — A man was arrested and charged on Tuesday, after he stalked four women online and over the phone for three years, Suffolk County police said.
Joseph Mathews, 49, was charged with four counts of second-degree stalking, a felony, police said.
Four women separately contacted police, reporting they received sexually inappropriate phone calls and messages from an unknown man dating back to April 2020.

Over the course of three years, he called the four women hundreds of times and sent numerous messages, mostly sexual in nature, police said.
Following an investigation, officers determined Mathews searched for women through local business and neighborhood pages online and found their contact information on the internet.

At about 2:04 p.m., officers searched Mathews's Deer Park home. He was then taken into custody and was held at the Fifth Precinct, police said.
He was expected to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
Police asked that anyone who may have been victimized by Mathews to call the Fifth Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8526.
