Deer Park Students Celebrate The Season With Winter Concerts

Third, fourth, and fifth-grade students performed back-to-back concerts in December.

DEER PARK, NY — Third, fourth, and fifth-grade students from John F. Kennedy Intermediate School helped kick off the holiday season with two festive winter concerts held in December in the school gymnasium.

The back-to-back performances drew proud families and community members, who filled the gym to cheer on the developing young musicians. Students performed under the guidance of Orchestra Director Jake Cosentino, Band Director Eric Gottesman, and Chorus Director Kristen Lombardo.

The second concert opened with a thunderous performance of “Tyrannosaurus Rocks” by the JFK Advanced Band, immediately energizing the audience. The chorus also delivered a standout performance of the traditional Catalan carol “El Desembre Congelat,” highlighting the students’ musical growth and expressive range.
