Dog Blessing And Adoption Event Comes To Deer Park On Saturday
A dog blessing and adoption event is coming to Deer Park on Saturday at the Deer Park Knights of Columbus on Long Island Avenue.
DEER PARK, NY — The Babylon Animal Shelter is full, despite 4.1 million shelter animals getting adopted yearly and around 920,000 cats and dogs ending up euthanized.
That means an abundance of dogs looking for love -0are waiting to be matched with their forever families.
A dog blessing and adoption event is coming to Deer Park this weekend, courtesy of the Deer Park Knights of Columbus and the shelter.

The dog blessing is slated for 11 a.m. and community members are welcome to brings their beloved pups on a leash to be blessed.
The event will take place at the Knights of Columbus building at 759 Long Island Avenue in Deer Park on Saturday, September 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For anyone looking to beat the rush and get the pick of the litter, normal adoption hours at the shelter are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
In addition, the shelter needs volunteers, including experienced large dog handlers. The shelter staff is also happy to train interested dog lovers.
There's also an abundance of bunnies, kittens and cats to spend time with too.
