Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued For Long Island

Strong storms may impact the morning commute on Thursday, the National Weather Service says.

Much of Long Island is under a hazardous weather outlook as strong thunderstorms will target the region on Thursday.

The outlook was issued for all of Nassau County as well as western Suffolk. Storms are also expected on the East End.

The outlook reads: "Showers and thunderstorms early Thursday morning as a warm front passes through could produce heavy rain and associated urban flooding...which could negatively impact the morning commute. A few thunderstorms later Thursday into Thursday evening may also produce strong wind gusts."
