July 4 Festivities

What: Oakdale Firecracker 5K Run

Where: 500 Montauk Hwy, Oakdale

When: Tuesday, July 4 at 8 a.m.

Run 5k or walk 1.5k on the scenic grounds of Bourne Mansion to raise funds for the Oakdale Historical Society. The course is a mix of paved roads and grass on the grounds of the historic Bourne Mansion in Oakdale. Runners will complete two loops for a 5k, and walkers will complete one. Strollers are welcome, but please note some of the run is on the grass.


What: Postgame Fireworks Spectacular

Where: Bethpage Ballpark, located at 3 Court House Drive in Central Islip.

When: July 1 through 3, and also July 15, July 29, Aug. 12, Aug. 19, and Sept.16, after 6:35 p.m. games.

Enjoy a spectacular fireworks show after cheering on Long Island's minor league baseball team, the Long Island Ducks. Fireworks shows are free with the purchase of tickets to any of the games. What: Village of Amityville Annual July 3rd Celebration

Where: Oak St. to Park Ave., Amityville

When: Monday, July 3, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m

Broadway in the Village of Amityville comes alive! Enjoy live music by The Mutant Kings, a petting zoo, car show and other family-friendly activities.


What: Village of Amityville Annual July 4th Parade

Where: Amityville

When: Tuesday, July 4, 10 a.m.

The tradition continues with this year’s parade, themed “Village Life on the Bay”. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. from Bayside Ave. and Richmond Ave., and proceeds north on Richmond Ave. toS. Ireland Pl., north on Bennett Pl., over Merrick Rd., and north on Broadway to the Main Firehouse at 55 W. Oak St.


What: 4th Of July Weekend Foodie Fest

Where: Tanger Outlets, Deer Park, Parking Lot 1 by Under Armour

When: July 1 to July 4

Calling all Foodies! Join Tanger Outlets, Deer Park as they kick off summer with a 4th of July Weekend Food Truck Festival. Enjoy gourmet food trucks offering a variety of menus as well as family fun including music, bounce houses and more!


What: Concert of Patriotic Music

Where: Grace United Methodist Church, 515 S Wellwood Ave, Lindenhurst

When: Saturday, July 1 at 3 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon of celebrating the country, featuring soprano soloist, Kathryn Wilson.


What: Beach Blast & Fireworks at Overlook Beach

Where: Overlook Beach, Babylon

When: Saturday, Aug. 12, 1:30 p.m.

This annual event is a day full of fun that includes relay contests, games, rides, live musical entertainment, and an ice cream eating contest. The day culminates with a fireworks display beginning at dusk.
