LI Cares To Host 2nd Annual 'Paws Walk' For Pet, Food Pantries

WEST BABYLON, NY — An upcoming fundraiser is going to the dogs.

Long Island Cares, a food bank nonprofit that has worked to curb food insecurity on the island, will host its second annual "Paws Walk" on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon.

The fun event welcomes dog owners and their pets to walk, while helping fund food and supplies.

Each participant will receive a goody band and bandanna for their four-legged friends.

All proceeds will benefit Baxter’s Pet Pantry and Long Island Cares. Participants are also encouraged to bring a food donation to be entered in a raffle, and to dress up their pets as part of a costume contest.

Registration is $20 per person.
