Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge After Shooting Teenager In Suffolk: DA
The man shot a teenager at a house party, hitting the teen three times and striking their femoral artery and vein, the DA says.
SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — A Huntington Station man was indicted in connection with the attempted murder of a 17-year-old outside a party at a West Babylon residence, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney said Tuesday.
Savion Jones, 22, of Huntington Station, was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and weapons-related charges after he shot a teenager, seriously injuring them, this summer, Tierney said.
"Thanks to the quick action of our Suffolk County police officers in applying a tourniquet, this child was not another murder victim," Tierney said in a news release. "We will use every tool at our disposal to investigate and prosecute any acts of violence in order to protect our community from this conduct."
