Man Seriously Injured In Wyandanch Electric Scooter Crash: Cops
The scooter collided with a truck, police say.
WYANDANCH, NY — A man is seriously injured after his electric scooter collided with a box truck in Wyandanch on Thursday, Suffolk County Police said.
The 37-year-old man, of New York City, was operating an electric scooter on the sidewalk of northbound Straight Path at about 2:55 p.m.
When he attempted to cross North 10th Street, he struck a box truck that was turning right onto North 10th Street from northbound Straight Path.

The man was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the truck was not injured, police said.
Motor Carrier Safety Section officers conducted a safety check on the box truck at the scene. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
