Man Seriously Injured In Suffolk Shooting: Police

The shooter is still at large, police say.

WYANDANCH, NY — A man is seriously injured after a shooting in Wyandanch on Wednesday night, Suffolk County Police said.

Two men were involved in a verbal dispute on South 31st Street, north of Brooklyn Avenue, at about 7:10 p.m. when one of the men pulled a gun from under his shirt and shot the other man, police said.

The shooter then fled the scene on foot.

The victim, a 34-year-old Central Islip man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious
but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
