NORTH BABYLON, NY — North Babylon High School inducted 110 students into the National Honor Society during a ceremony in the school auditorium on Nov. 12, school officials said.
Families, friends, Board of Education members and central office administrators attended the event, which opened with welcoming remarks from National Honor Society adviser Shelley Seeno.
Student officers shared brief reflections on each of the four pillars before lighting the corresponding ceremonial candles. Science teacher Amy Bongiorno was also inducted as an honorary member. The ceremony concluded with all candidates reciting the National Honor Society pledge.

Principal Dr. Jonathan Klomp and Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Graham praised the inductees for meeting the organization’s standards of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Graham said the students reflect the districtwide theme guiding the school year.
“It is a pleasure to stand before you as we celebrate the induction of our outstanding students into the National Honor Society,” Graham said. “This ceremony not only honors academic achievement, but also recognizes the pillars of leadership, character, service and scholarship. I can think of no better embodiment of our message — ‘United in Purpose, Unlimited in Potential’ — than the inductees before us this evening.”
