'School Hero': Babylon High Psychologist Honored By LICAB

A Babylon Junior-Senior High School teacher has been recognized by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying, the district announces.

BABYLON, NY — Babylon Junior-Senior High School psychologist Allison Lepore has been named a 2024 Long Island School Hero by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying, a nonprofit organization dedicated to emphasizing the importance of bully-free communities and providing support services for children, families, and schools affected by bullying.

The district said in a statement that this prestigious recognition is awarded to school staff members who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

According to the district, Lepore was nominated by members of the Babylon school community for her exceptional dedication to embodying the values of kindness, empathy, and leadership. Her efforts have made a lasting impact on her students' lives, earning her admiration and gratitude from colleagues, families, and students alike.

The LICAB annually recognizes school heroes as part of its mission to celebrate individuals who go above and beyond to promote respect and inclusivity within educational settings.
