P.S. 139 is the most highly decorated public school in the state for chess.
The team has won 1st place in NY State at the Reserve Level, 5th place in NY State at the Open Level and six students also won top individual trophies at the State Scholastic Championships in Saratoga Springs, NY. on March 3-4, 2012.
