Man Wanted After Smashing Child’s Head Into Car Windshield, NYPD Says

BROOKLYN, NY — Police are searching for a man who attacked a 10-year-old in Brooklyn, smashing the boy’s head against a car windshield.

Authorities said the assault occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Dec. 17 outside 510 Ocean Parkway in Kensington, following a verbal dispute between the suspect and the 10-year-old boy.

Video released by the NYPD shows a man, wearing jeans and a sweater, approaching the boy before grabbing him, though the footage cuts out before the alleged head-smashing.

Authorities said the suspect drove off in a silver Honda Odyssey, last spotted heading westbound on Ditmas Avenue near Courtelyou Road.

The boy was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was treated for pain to the right side of his head and left hand and later released in stable condition, officials said.

As of Tuesday, police said it remains unclear what triggered the violent dispute. Authorities have released surveillance footage of the suspect in hopes someone can identify him.
