Brooklyn Politician Planning Trump Support Rally in Midtown This Weekend
Trump deserves "the same honeymoon period that all presidents receive when they first get elected," the local politician insists.

BOROUGH PARK, BROOKLYN — While the rest of Brooklyn's local politicians scramble to find ways to ease constituent fears amid a spike in post-election hate crimes and protect marginalized groups from the impending Donald Trump presidency, Nachman Caller, Republican District Leader for the 48th New York State Assembly District (each of the state's Assembly districts has a Democratic and Republican "leader," in addition to an elected assembly member), is planning a Trump support rally to show the president-elect he does not stand alone in his hometown of New York.
Caller previously rallied for Trump during both the primary and general elections. His district, covering the heavily Orthodox Jewish area of Borough Park and Midwood (and bordering Sunset Park, Kensington and Ditmas Park), produced 16,957 votes for Trump on Nov. 8 — the highest Trump vote in Brooklyn.

“Donald Trump won the race for president fair and square," Caller said. "Demonstrators should respect his win as the president-elect."
"We would hope that they have the decency to give him the same honeymoon period that all presidents receive when they first get elected," Caller said.

Caller's pro-Trump rally — the first of its kind that we've heard of in NYC — is slated to last from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, in front of Trump Tower, the president-elect's residence at 725 Fifth Avenue between East 56th Street and East 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
It was not immediately clear how many people were planning to join Caller beneath Trump Tower come Saturday.
