Non-perishable food and clothing are also being collected for the family and can be dropped off at the church and at the district office of Councilman Jumaane Williams, D-Flatbush, 4517 Avenue D, bet. E. 45th and E. 46th streets.

"My prayers for peace and comfort are with the Charles family today over the tragic loss of their son Aschton. When a parent has to bury a child, it goes against the natural order of life. This is truly a horrific and saddening event, compounded by the sudden destruction of their home and personal property," Williams said in a statement Sunday.
