Off-Duty Bus Driver Crashes Into Police Officer, NYPD Says
Raquel James, 27, was charged with DWI after she crashed into the officer early Friday morning in Flatbush, police said.

FLATBUSH, NY — An off-duty MTA bus driver was charged with drunken driving after she crashed into a police officer crossing a Flatbush intersection early Friday morning, the NYPD said.
Two police officers were in Flatbush investigating a different case when Raquel James, 27, struck one of them on the Rockaway Parkway near Winthrop Street, a spokesman for the NYPD said.
The officer was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a fractured wrist from the crash, police said.

James was charged with vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, reckless driving, failure to yield to pedestrians and driving while under the influence of alcohol by police, authorities said.
She was hired as a bus driver by the MTA in 2016 and assigned to a depot in Brooklyn, a spokeswoman for the agency said. James has been suspended pending an investigation.
