Prospect Park Forage and Dine

At the Prospect Park Forage and Dine, participants take a walk in Prospect Park and learn about the edible plants available there. (Which might include dandelion greens, mugwort, Japanese knotweed, garlic mustard, field garlic, nettles, violet leaves and flowers, fiddlehead ferns and bishop’s elder.)

Then the group will reconvene at to eat a dinner made from them. 

Walking tour is at 1 p.m.

Dinner at 8 p.m. at 1108 Cortelyou Road bet. Stratford and Westminster. 

Cost is $80/person (plus tax and tip)

The tour will be led by Leda Meredith, author of The Locavore’s Handbook: The Busy Person’s Guide to Eating Local on a Budget. She is the Gardening Program Coordinator for Adult Education at the New York Botanical Garden and an instructor specializing in edible and medicinal plants at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
