KidsCreate! Fall Registration Open

Acting and creative classes in Ditmas Park for children of all ages cover improv and character exercises.

 

Local art and performance program KidsCreate! is now accepting young thespians for its fall courses. 

"KidsCreate! offers acting and other creative classes to children of the Ditmas Park [community]. For children, art and performance can be some of the most influential forces in their lives," says the program's website.

On Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45 p.m. from Sept. 25 to Dec. 11 at the Third Root Community Health Center at 380 Marlborough Rd., children ages 5-7 can participate in "Find Your Inner Superhero," playing improv games and character exercises. The "superheroes" will perform for family and friends during their final class.

On Thursdays from 3:45-5 p.m. from Sept. 20 to Dec. 13, "Find Your Inner Superhero" takes place at Lark Cafe at 1007 Church Ave. for the same age group. The "superheroes" will perform for family and friends during their final class. 

On Thursdays from 5:15-6:30 p.m. from Sept. 20 to Dec. 13 at Lark Cafe, children ages 8-12 can participate in "Acting Fun 101," a class that builds on the foundation built during "Find Your Inner Superhero." Students will create their story and with a little help from the instructor, create their own final performance.

Register before September 20 for Thursday classes or before September 25 for Tuesday class to receive 5 percent off session tuition, and the first class is a free trial class. Email creator Heather Cambanes at heatherkidscreate@gmail.com to register or go to the KidCreate! website for more information.
