Labor Day: What's Closed?

Businesses, organizations and operations closed for the holiday.

 

Several institutions and services will be closed Mon., Sept. 3 in observance of Labor Day.

All city, state and federal offices are closed on Mon., Sept. 3.

Community Board 14's office will be closed from Friday, Aug. 31 at 2 p.m. until 9 a.m. Tues., Sept. 4.  

Sustainable Flatbush will not be holding community composting or gardening hours Mon., Sept. 3 and will resume normal operations on Wed., Sept. 5.

MTA subways and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Mon., Sept. 3. Due to FASTRACK, there will be no No. 4 service from 42nd St.-Grand Central to Atlantic Av.-Barclays Ctr after 10 p.m. on Labor Day.

Labor Day is also a bank holiday so all branches and U.S. financial markets are closed.

The Brooklyn Public Library, including all local branches, will be closed Sept. 1, 2 and 3.

There will be no mail delivery on Mon., Sept. 3. All post offices will be closed.

Alternate side parking rules will be suspended on Mon., Sept. 3.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is closed on Mon., Sept. 3.

Public pools will officially close after Labor Day, so the holiday weekend is your last chance to show off your backstroke this season.
