Lacrosse Team Readies for Season at Parade Grounds

The Brooklyn Battery Lacrosse Club forms children's lacrosse team to compete at Parade Grounds.

 

Children in Ditmas Park will soon have another sport to choose from.

The Brooklyn Battery Lacrosse Club (BBLC) has formed a childrens' team that will play at the Parade Grounds this fall.

Outdoor sessions will be held on Sundays from 4-6 p.m. at the Parade Grounds on field 4. The team will play after AYSO soccer games conclude.

Indoor sessions, which are optional, will be held on Fridays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA at 1121 Bedford Ave.

The fall 2012 season runs from Wednesday, Sept. 5 to the weekend after Thanksgiving. It will conclude in a tournament and jamboree in Westchester County. 

in the Parade Grounds throughout August for children ages 5-15 of all skill levels.

“City kids, who do great in school and excel at lacrosse...," said BBLC Founder Joe Nocella, "You can’t name me a college that wouldn't be falling over themselves trying to recruit this amazingly diverse demographic.”
