Police Athletic League Celebrates at Parade Grounds
Children from neighborhoods across Brooklyn came together in the 70th Precinct to celebrate summer and make new friends.
New York City’s Police Athletic League (PAL) held its Brooklyn Borough Celebration Day Thursday at Ditmas Park's Parade Grounds, welcoming 300 children to play games, participate in sports and celebrate summer.
Children of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers, from PAL Play Streets throughout Brooklyn took part in activities from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. including double-dutch, tug-of-war, inflatable obstacle courses, board games, face painting and sing-a-longs.

Founded in 1914, New York's PAL is the first civilian-run PAL in the country. The organization provides activities to over 50,000 children annually.
