On June 29th, 2024 The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival will be heading down to Washington DC for a Mass Poor People's & Low Wage Workers Assembly and Moral March on Washington DC & to the Polls to give testimony and make demands to raise the National Minimum Wage, for Universal Healthcare, an end to the War Economy, Ecological Justice and more.

The original Poor People's Campaign was started over 50 years ago by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when seeing that poverty needed to be addressed in the nation after he identified that 50 million people were living in poverty.

National Co-Chairs of current The Poor People's Campaign Bishop William J. Barber II and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis have identified that there were 140 million people living in poverty in the U.S. prior to the pandemic, and that currently poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in the nation behind only heart disease, cancer and smoking, with approximately 800 people dying daily.
