Take advantage of the many happenings in Ditmas Park this weekend

Every Friday, Ditmas Park Patch will give a tip on what's going on for the upcoming weekend. Here's this week's:

 

Join cyclists from the neighborhood Friday at 7 p.m. for the weekly . The purpose is purely for a fun, relaxing group ride through Ditmas Park's streets and there is no planned route; it's decided upon before each ride. At 8 p.m. Friday go see , part of the Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival. Performances will include Geri Allen and Carrie Mae Weems, Esperanza Spalding and Terri Lyne Carrington, Lizz Wright, Patrice Rushen, the Howard University vocal group Afro Blue, the tap dancer Maurice Chestnut and many surprises. Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival is free and open to the public.

On Saturday from 9-10 a.m. is a at the Flatbush-tompkins Congregational Church. Pick up household products and clothing for children and adults.

Saturday at 10 a.m. head to , which features a diverse group of artists, designers, crafers and vendors and is a project of the Brooklyn Arts Council.

On Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., two homes in Ditmas Park will be setting up to sell some mid century furniture, pictures, collectibles, paintings, old advertising and lots of vintage. Stop by East 17 and East 19 Street between Newkirk and Ditmas Avenues.

Also on Saturday from 1-3 p.m. to celebrate the unveiling of five new Uncover Church Avenue murals installed on commercial gates along the Avenue.  There will be delicious Mexican food provided by El Acuario, live music from Brooklyn-based DJ NYCTrust, and free face-painting for kids and adults with a special twist. Head to 1217 Church Avenue between Argyle and Westminster Roads.

 

On Sunday shop for produce and more at the . Beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the Cortelyou Library, vendors sell a range of products, including fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, turkey, mushrooms, bread, fish and more.
