9/11 15th Anniversary Fundraiser Will Support Victims and Family Members

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The 15th anniversary of 9/11 is fast approaching. Tuesday's Children, a nonprofit for people who experienced loss from 9/11 and terrorism internationally, is hosting its sixth annual Rise Up Downtown benefit in Lower Manhattan on Friday, Sept. 9.

The event will honor victims of Sept. 11 and their family members just a few days before the 15th anniversary of the tragedy. The fundraising goal for this year's benefit is $115,000, according to the nonprofit's press release for the event.

There will be live music, dancing, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, raffle prizes, an open bar and a silent auction. Musician Francesca Picerno, who lost her father on 9/11, will perform an original song called "Turn It Into Love."

Tuesday's Children has helped more than 10,000 people impacted by 9/11, including families of victims, responders and military service members, according to the group's website.

The event takes place Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 from 7 to 11 p. m., at Three Sixty Degrees event space at 10 Desbrosses St. in Lower Manhattan. Buy tickets here.
