Dead Body Discovered In Battery Park: NYPD

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Police discovered a dead body in Battery Park early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to a 911 call of an unconscious man in the green space at 7:15 a.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found an approximately 45-year-old man lying face down in a garden, officials said.

Responders tried to revive the man with CPR, but were unsuccessful. Police believe the man was homeless and may have died from natural causes.

The city's Medical Examiner's office will determine the exact cause of death.
