'Fearless Girl' Statue Gets New Home At New York Stock Exchange
Bowling Green's "Charging Bull" will eventually join the four-foot statue in front of the stock exchange.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — The "Fearless Girl" statue has a new permanent home in front of the New York Stock Exchange, officials unveiled Monday morning.
The 4-foot bronze statue was removed on Nov. 27 from its spot opposite the "Charging Bull" in Bowling Green — where it was placed by investment company State Street Global Advisors for International Women's Day in March, 2017.
The statue was intended as a temporary installation, but because of its popularity as a symbol of gender inequality on corporate boards Mayor Bill de Blasio extended the statue's permit for more than a year.

Tourists flocked to the statue at Bowling Green for selfies with the bronze celebrity staring down the "Charging Bull" but crowds were causing a traffic hazard, city officials said.
The statue's new 11 Wall St. home facing the New York Stock Exchange aims to maintain the statue's symbolism while offering a more pedestrian-friendly area for visitors to swarm.
