Here's Where Kids Can Get Free Meals This Summer In NYC: Mayor
More than 300 schools, community centers and food trucks will be set up with breakfast and lunch throughout the summer.
NEW YORK, NY — New York City kids in need of breakfast and lunch while school is out can stop by more than 300 locations across the five boroughs, according to Mayor Eric Adams.
The mayor and schools Chancellor David Banks kicked off the city's 2022 summer meals program on Friday, offering up free breakfast and lunch to any New Yorker 18 years old or younger throughout the summer. The kick-off comes after meals officially started last week.
“New York City children deserve a space to learn, to be a kid, and not worry about where to get their next meal, and our free summer meals program helps them do just that,” Adams said. “One of my top priorities as mayor is ensuring that our children have the necessary and nutritious meals they need to learn and grow into the great New Yorkers who will one day run our city."
