FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Joe Coffee will open its first Financial District location this year, part of the local coffee chain's expansion throughout the city. (For more news from the Financial District and the rest of New York City, subscribe to Patch news alerts here.)

A Joe coffee shop will open in Westfield World Trade Center later this year, according to the mall's website. The New York Post reported that the shop would open as soon as May. Reps for the shopping center and the coffee chain did not immediately respond to requests for more information from Patch. The Financial District outpost will join multiple new locales, including a kiosk in Bryant Park that opened on Monday and two new shops scheduled to open in July.

The expansion comes after an investment in the chain from Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group.
