Lower East Side: The New Meatpacking District?
The New York Times delivered some hefty burns to one of the newest clubs in "Hell Square," saying it was bringing Meatpacking to the LES.

If you are anywhere from age 20 to ... well ... now, 50, you know it well: the so-called "Hell Square," a clump of rowdy clubs and bars in the Lower East Side between East Houston and Delancey streets from north to south and Allen and Essex streets from east to west. It's dozens of bars tightly packed into nine blocks, many of them open and serving (overpriced) alcohol until 4 a.m.
One of Hell's Square's newest lounges called Jia, on 107 Rivington Street was totally murdered by The New York Times Wednesday. The Times didn't hold back as it described the crowd Jia attracts:
An older, meatpacking district-y charcuterie platter: men in fedoras and white button-downs mingle with women in cutout bodycon dresses, shredded denim and black Brenda Walsh chokers. "Even if there's five people, there's four beautiful girls," said Christian Alexander, a self-described "curator" for the place.
So there you have it. The Lower East Side is officially the new Meatpacking District, and has been getting there since 2013.
