Lower Manhattan's Springtime Events At Brookfield Place

Brookfield Place announced its spring line-up of community events in Lower Manhattan.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — Springtime is here — and with it comes a whole host of New York City activities.

In Lower Manhattan, Brookfield Place announced its spring line-up of community events and cultural happenings nearby the waterfront mall.

Through April 27: Saturday morning show for kids

Weekly performances of magic shows, story time and singalongs for children every Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

April 1-8 and April 5-12: "Oasis" by Third Rail Projects

Third Rail Projects creates a series of performances for the public to find art in everyday circumstances. Daily episodes are 12-12:10 p.m. and 1-1:10 p.m. and a full length performance is scheduled for April 12 at 7:30 p.m.

April 28: 9/11 Memorial & Museum 5k Run/Walk

A 5k run/walk will begin at Brookfield Place through Battery Park City, with views of the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade. A community day is scheduled at the end of the run at Memorial Plaza.

May 1-4: Fado Festival in New York and New Jersey

Performances of traditional Portuguese music fado will take place May 1-2, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and May 3-4, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Brookfield Place's fado festival. A discussion with scholar Lila Ellen Gray will take place ahead of Saturday's performance at 6 p.m.

May 1-September 18: Summer Fitness Series

Along the waterfront at Brookfield Place, fitness instructors will teach yoga, HIIT, dance and more every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. this summer. Free with registration.

May 11-12: The Creative Kitchen Kids Food Festival

Family friend activities from cooking classes to a scavenger hunt and giveaways to celebrate Mother's Day weekend 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

May 16: American Heart Association 2019 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk

Brookfield Place will be the end of the American Heart Association's run and walk to raise awareness about heart disease.

May 17-18: Manhattan Concours at BFPL

Along Brookfield Place's waterfront plaza, 25 collector cars will be showcased May 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and May 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

North Cove Sailing & KidSail Summer Camp

North Cove Marina at Brookfield Place will offer a kids sailing camp with full and half-day options for kids aged 7 to 17. No experience required. Sign up before March 31 for 10 percent office.
