Man Struck By J Train Escapes With Barely A Scratch: NYPD

A Fulton Street J train struck and rolled over a man early Friday morning. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a minor injury.

FINANCIAL DISTRICT, NY — A man jumped in front of a J train and was pinned under a subway car for 20 minutes — but managed to escape the ordeal with barely a scratch, police said.

The 29-year-old jumped in front of the southbound J train Friday at about 1:30 a.m. and was struck and pinned under the train's second car at the Fulton Street station in the Financial District. The man was conscious and alert as emergency responders worked to free the man, a police spokesman said.

At roughly 1:50 a.m., crews pulled the man out of the subway tracks and transported him to Bellevue Hospital with a minor foot injury, authorities said.
