Woman Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver On Manhattan Street

The driver of the SUV did not remain at the scene and is still at large.

NEW YORK CITY — A hit-and-run driver killed a woman who crossing the street in the Lower East Side on Thursday, police said on Friday.

The incident happened near Clinton and Stanton streets around 7 p.m., according to police.

The woman, who was in her 60s, was in the crosswalk when a black SUV struck her. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
